Flu Vaccine
Many adults do not get recommended vaccines, including the flu shot, for a number of reasons including a lack of information, misinformation, and missed regular doctor visits. Particularly disturbing is the fact that more than half of adults less than 65 years of age with serious health conditions frequently miss their flu shot. The CDC recommends all persons older than 6 months without contraindications receive annual vaccinations for seasonal influenza protection. CDC's Updated Pneumococcal Vaccine Recommendations for Adults
On January 27, 2022, the CDC published the new recommendations of the pneumonia vaccine for all adults 19 years or older who have not previously received a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine or whose previous vaccination history is unknown. There are two new pneumonia vaccines available, making a total of four different vaccines. They are Prevnar13, Prevnar 20, Vaxneuvance, and Pneumovax. Smithland Pharmacy is here to help recommend which pneumonia vaccine(s) you need so there is no need for you to worry if your are not sure which one you need.
